Townhouse

Branding

History Reimagined

Background
Except for its facade, every part of this New York townhouse was demolished due to its poor condition. The architect and interior designer enlisted our client, luxury residential builder Silverlining, to create a new structure that referenced the original Romanesque Revival design, while updating systems and providing contemporary amenities. Silverlining asked us to document the two and a half year construction process, which combined artisanal crafts and modern construction techniques.

Execution
Production by Build Pictures involved the installation of multiple long-term time-lapse cameras, real-time filming of key construction events, a reveal of the completed townhouse, and interviews with key players. The ever-changing construction schedule presented a unique challenge, which we addressed with pro-active communication with the Silverlining team and agile, flexible planning on our part.

Results
The completed film premiered at an exclusive design industry event in New York City ith a post-screening panel discussion on the relationship between film, architecture, and design. The film is featured on SilverLining’s website and has been spotlighted by numerous architecture, interior design, and luxury lifestyle websites in the U.S. Townhouse, the second brand film commissioned by Silverlining, further established their reputation and expanded their network of relationships with high-end architectural and design firms, the primary referral source for their work.
